It started with a blank wall in a new home.
My former art collection had just been destroyed, and I had just finished reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. That’s when it hit me: art isn’t just decoration; it is a dialogue. It’s a way to communicate with ourselves and the people we welcome into our spaces.
As I stared at the yawning expanse of white in my living room that seemed to whisper, “So how can we make you feel today?” I had a thought…
Like many people, I wanted my space to feel more like home – MY home – a true reflection of my personality, my values, and the kind of life I wanted to create. As an artist, I’ve always had beautiful art on my walls, curated from artists and friends I admire from around the globe. But this felt like an opportunity to try something different.
But finding the right pieces to fill an entire home? That is another story. Scrolling through endless galleries quickly became overwhelming… Everything seemed either too generic or simply didnt resonate with what I wanted for my space. That’s when I realized the key wasn’t just choosing art—it was choosing art intentionally.
And that’s where the concept of Intentional Design was born.
I began selecting art for very strategic places around my home.
When chosen deliberately, art can set the tone for an entire room—whether it’s a sense of tranquility in a bedroom to calm the mind after a long work day, inspiring creative energy in a corporate office environment, or curating a deep conversation in a dining room around a shared meal. Art has the power to transform not just our spaces, but the lives we live within them.
Intentional Art is about finding pieces that align with the specific emotions you want to curate in a space. It’s about choosing art with purpose that feels like you.
Art has always been a reflection of its time, shaped by the tools and technologies available to its creators.
From the invention of oil paints to the advent of photography, each innovation has broadened the boundaries of artistic expression. Today, Generative-AI represents the latest revolution in artistic innovation, offering artists and curators a powerful tool alongside software like Photoshop, to rapidly iterate on creative personal explorations of topics.
Generative AI isn’t about replacing artists; it’s about collaborating with them.
At its core, it’s a tool that uses algorithms to generate unique artwork based on specific inputs. But the magic lies in how we use it. Imagine entering details about a space—its colors, its purpose, lighting, current existing decor, and a desired emotional tone to be set by a piece of art, and having an AI trained in every style of art that has ever existed generate a visual representation of the perfect artwork for that space.
For artists, generative AI opens up new possibilities for blending data and creativity. By analyzing patterns in society, exploring and combining styles, and creating rapid variations of an idea in ways that would be impossible with traditional methods, this new era becomes a dynamic process where the machine provides the raw material, and human ingenuity shapes the final outcome.
This blend of technology and artistry allows us to push the boundaries of curation for a given space. We can design artwork that feels fresh yet timeless, personal yet universal, all while maintaining the emotional depth and narrative power that defines great art.
While generative AI provides the framework, the human touch brings the soul.
The algorithms may suggest shapes, colors, and compositions, but it’s the human eye—and heart—that knows what makes a piece feel alive. For every 1 image in our Gallery, there are literally thousands that never make the cut.
At Intention by Design, every AI-generated piece of art undergoes a rigorous refinement process that takes several hours, sometimes days to complete. This involves a rigorous process of enhancing textures, adjusting details, and ensuring the work aligns with the emotions and intentions we aim to evoke. It’s a partnership between human creativity and machine precision, resulting in artwork that’s as thoughtful as it is innovative.
By combining technology and tradition, we’re not just creating art; we’re crafting experiences.
Art is more than what’s on the surface—it’s also about how it’s presented. The choice of print medium and framing options can drastically alter the impact of a piece, making it essential to match the artwork to the environment it will inhabit.
Canvas, with its tactile texture and warmth, offers a classic choice for traditional or cozy spaces. Metal prints, on the other hand, bring a sleek, modern edge, perfect for contemporary or industrial interiors. Acrylic adds a sense of depth and vibrancy, amplifying colors and giving the piece a dynamic, almost three-dimensional quality.
At Intention by Design, we understand that the medium is part of the message. That’s why we offer multiple options for each piece, ensuring the artwork not only fits the space but enhances it.
But we don’t stop at traditional mediums. As technology evolves, we’re exploring innovative formats like backlit displays, interactive digital screens, and augmented reality experiences. These cutting-edge mediums allow us to create art that’s not just seen but felt, engaging the senses and transforming how people interact with their environments.
Every piece of art has a story—one that can resonate on a deeply personal level. A bold abstract might whisper tales of resilience and freedom. A serene landscape could be a gentle reminder of a cherished memory or a faraway dream.
When we curate art intentionally, we give these stories a platform. Each piece becomes part of a larger narrative within a space, complementing its design while standing as a unique focal point. This interplay between art and environment invites deeper connections, allowing viewers to find new meanings every time they engage with a piece.
At Intention by Design, we believe storytelling transforms a space from ordinary to extraordinary. It’s not about filling empty walls; it’s about weaving a tapestry of emotions, memories, and aspirations.
Unlike other design elements, art grows with you. A well-chosen piece doesn’t just decorate your home; it evolves as your perspective does.
The serene blues that once brought calm to your bustling workspace might later evoke memories of a milestone achieved. The vibrant reds of a dining room centerpiece could spark countless meaningful conversations and shared moments throughout the years. Art, in its most profound form, becomes a companion—shaping and reflecting the journey of those who live with it.
By choosing art intentionally, you’re not just investing in aesthetics; you’re inviting a living, breathing narrative into your life.
